What are the type of Surrogates?

Surrogacy is when a woman carries a child for someone else. Typically, she carries a child for a woman who is unable to carry a child for herself.

Traditional Surrogacy and Gestational Surrogacy are generally the two types of surrogacy. The choice of which type depends on individual circumstances and the recommendation of a doctor. Considerations include any disorders that affect the ovaries, and previous history.

Traditional Surrogacy - A surrogate mother uses her own eggs and is artificially inseminated with sperm from the intended father or sperm donor.  Tradition surrogacy is often chosen when

Gestational Surrogacy - Eggs are taken from the intended mother or egg donor and fertilized with  the sperm of the intended father or sperm donor. By using the in vitro fertilization process,   embryos are then transferred to the surrogate mother's uterus. The surrogate mother uses her uterus to carry a child which is not genetically related to her.
